Norm Stern Memorial
Norman joined CJCC in May 2015 with his Torch Red C4 and C5 Corvettes, although his 1999 Torch Red C5 Corvette was his true pride and joy.
Not long after joining the club, Norm sold his C4 Corvette so that he could concentrate on customizing his C5 Corvette and taking it to car shows which he loved to do.
As you can see from these photos, Norm really put his personal touch on the engine and interior of his Corvette.
Norman was a certified and award-winning Level II Desktop Support Specialist who could resolve problems quickly, provide training, create documentation, work independently or as a team member; and who constantly achieved near 100% customer satisfaction using good listening skills, relationship building techniques and technical expertise. Norman retired in June 2019.
Norman was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June of 2024 and fought the good fight. Sadly, with this disease, the cancer won the battle and Norman passed away on May 24, 2025. His last participation with the club was in April 2024 where he attended our monthly meeting to receive his club jacket and the 2024 Memorial weekend at the Vettes for Vets at Lyons Hospital.
About two months after Norm’s passing, the club received a Certified Mail from his Estate informing us that he bequeathed his treasured 1999 Torch Red C5 Corvette to the Central Jersey Corvette Club. The members were speechless regarding Norm’s unexpected generosity and the fact that he thought so much of our club that he left us with his pride and joy.
Over the next several months, the club worked with Norm’s wife Nene and his estate to have the Corvette legally transferred to us. Finally, on December 21, 2025 final documents were signed and Norm’s wife presented the keys to his Corvette to CJCC President Michael Woskey on behalf of the club. It was as though Norman was giving the club one of the best Christmas presents that we could ever ask for.
Immediately after taking possession of Norm’s Corvette, the car was offered for sale to the membership. Apon receiving two bids for the car, the Executive Board accepted the high bid of $18,000 and the title was transferred into the member’s name.
A special Memorial Fund was created in Norman Stern’s name and the proceeds from the sale of his Corvette have been earmarked in the club’s treasury for “special one-time uses” and are tracked separately from the club’s “general fund”.
Norman will be sadly missed by all that knew him, but his memory will live on within the Central Jersey Corvette Club community for many years to come!
