St. John's Episcopal Churh in Somerville

Dear Fellow CJCC Members,

I would like to thank all those who donated gifts this year to our Annual Holiday Gift Giving Program.  Your generosity will be appreciated by those children and families who are less fortunate.  My SUV was packed to the gills with all the presents collected at last Saturday's Annual Holiday Party at the Bridgewater Manor.  A huge thank you goes out to Juanita and Joy for once again coordinating such a wonderful event.

I dropped off all the gifts on Monday to St. John's in Somerville where Father Ron and his volunteers will be responsible for getting them distributed to all the children and families in the area.  Attached is a picture of the gifts that were dropped off to Father Ron's church.  Here is the message that Father Ron delivered to our club members:

Dear Mike, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the members of the Central Jersey Corvette Club for contributing so many beautiful Christmas gifts for children in need this Christmas. Your organization has certainly captured the good spirit of the season with generosity and kindness. I know that each child who opens up his or her presents will be deeply grateful and very happy. From the bottom of our hearts here at St. John's Episcopal Church in Somerville, a hearty thank you ! God bless you in the New Year of 2024.

Faithfully yours,

Tomorrow's Children Fund

On Friday, August 4th CJCC held their annual Rick Shanahan Memorial Benefit Drive for Tomorrows Children’s Fund. As in past years, we gathered together in front of the Somerset County Court House in downtown Somerville displaying our Corvettes to help raise money for this worthwhile cause. This year our annual fund drive was done in memory of long-time member Bill Clarkson who past away in March of this year.  Bill was a long time supported of Tomorrows Children’s Fund.

The Tomorrows Children’s Fund was founded by a group of committed parents to help their children and others like them with cancer and serious blood disorders. With the help of friends like the Central Jersey Corvette Club, today, TCF provides a warm, healthy and loving environment for children in treatment; a full scope of services to relieve families’ emotional and financial stress; the very best possible medical care; and funding for research on these diseases. All of which confirms the belief that through hope, hard work and heartfelt generosity, extraordinary things are possible.

To help kick off this fundraiser, club member John Gendelman generously donated a Luxury Box for 30 lucky winners at the Patriot's Ball Park. The chance to win a seat at the Patriot's Luxury Box was used as a way to encourage our members to be extra generous with their donations this year.  Members who donated $100.00 or more were entered into a drawing and the first 30 names pulled were eligible to attend the Patriot's game on August 11th.  Those that attended the game had a great time socializing and watching the game including the fireworks display afterwards. A huge thank you to John Gendelman for making this such a wonderful evening!

The culmination of all this netted a total of $4,170 in contributions raised for TCF.  On September 15, Rich Bonfanti, John Gendelman, Mike Woskey and Bruce Cenicola delivered all the checks to TCF.  They were completely overwhelmed by the generosity of the CJCC member’s support. A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all the members of CJCC who donated this year to this worthy cause!
