Our August 5th Wednesday Night Cruise was a success not withstanding a few hiccups along the way like a rain cloud that hovered over Pluckemin around 6:00 just as the cars were arriving at our meeting location. Still, 15 Corvettes attended including 1 Jaguar. After a brief drivers meeting, we were on our way by 6:45. A short way through the cruise, we encountered another issue………..flashing lights and emergency vehicles on the Rt. 287 overpass on Rattlesnake Bridge Road. Upon getting through that bottleneck, we were once again on our way. As we entered into Oldwick, yours truly made a wrong turn and had to back track a bit to get us back on course. It is here where we lost a few cars. But not to fret, we eventually found each other back at the final destination. On the last leg of the cruise, the plan was to travel down Liberty Corner Road in Far Hills past some stunning mansions. Once again, another hiccup with the road blocked off to all traffic. I decided to lead the cars back to Pluckemin via Rt. 206 to Washington Valley Road. After a few more miles, we arrived at our final destination where Kathy and I hosted a cocktail party for the members and guests. Everyone was able to enjoy each other’s company while sipping a drink and snacking on some light refreshments. It was truly a pleasure for Kathy and me to have everyone back to our home to finish off the evening on a wonderful note.
