Rich B's "First Wednesday Cruise"
July 1, 2015
Rich and Lucille B. led the CJCC in a wonderful cruise through the back roads of Hunterdon and Warren Counties. Our gathering spot started at the Clinton Station Diner where some of the members arrived early to grab a bite to eat. George and Hope L. showed up in their brand new Torch Red Z06. That brings a total of 3 new Z06’s to our club……………….hmmm, maybe one day!
Around 6:30 everyone assembled for a driver’s meeting where we split the cars into two groups. With a record breaking 21 cars, we wanted to make sure no one got lost or left behind. At 6:45 we departed the diner to begin our journey where Rich and Lucille led us through some really spectacular areas of NJ. We drove past rolling hills and farms, corn fields, densely tree lined wooded areas, babbling brooks and historic stone farm houses. At the halfway point we made our way up to Merrill Creek Reservoir. Here we were able to get out of our cars, stretch our legs and take in the great vista including a group photo before getting back in our cars to travel the second leg of the trip.
We arrived at Gronsky’s Milk House around 8:30 where everyone was able to share their experience with Rich and Lucille while enjoying some ice cream. A great evening out in the country in our Corvettes was enjoyed by everyone while spending some quality time with fellow CJCC members. I know I don’t stand alone in expressing our great appreciation to Rich and Lucille for leading our club on a wonderful outing!
